Hi.

I write about repurposing old things into new, home decor and sometimes stray into whimsy.

Each year, I have nothing but good intentions as the holiday season approaches:  Let's carve all of our Jack-o'-Lanterns using patterns designed by medieval monks, or bake 300 dozen cookies with ingredients found at no fewer than 4 stores in 3 area codes, and because we have all of this "extra" time, we can make our own wrapping paper, because nothing says "I care" like  paper pulp.  So, after I bought my plastic pumpkins, holiday Oreos, and good old-fashioned paper made by professionals, I did have a few minutes to trim up the tree with Christmas stuff like bingle balls and whofoo fluff...Here's how it turned out:

I'm going to be keeping this up until well after the first of the year, I think.  Taking it down, aside from being a chore that I don't love, gives me a little bit of the blues..so I think I'll make sure my schedule remains nice and full until then....baking 300 dozen cookies with rare ingredients and planning for next year's Jack-o'-Lantern extravaganza..
